Ogallala Formation

The Ogallala Formation is a Miocene to Pliocene geologic unit in the High Plains of the western United States and the location of the Ogallala Aquifer. Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas displays over 700 feet of Flood strata in the Ogallala Formation. [1]
