Huldrych Zwingli, Huldreich Zwingli, Ulrich Zwingli or Ulricht Zwingli (Born::January 1, 1484 – Died::October 11, 1531) was a leader of the Reformation in Switzerland.
Zwingli was born in 1484 into a wealthy family of the middle class in Wildhaus, Canton of St. Gallen, Swiss Confederation. He was the third of eight children. His father was a farmer and the chief magistrate of Wildhaus.  His family decided to give him an education and prepare him for priesthood. In 1519 he became the 'people's priest' as the Great Minster at Zürich, an important ecclesiastical position there.
