Hadoram, called Jurhum by the Arabs, is believed to be the founder of Hejaz containing Mecca and Medina. According to Arab tradition, the daughter of Muḍaḍ ibn 'Amr, a descendant of his, became one of the wives of Ishmael. They claim that Kedar was the offspring of the union of Ishmael and his wife. His descendants also dwelt in Hadhramaut. He may be the Adramitæ of south Arabia mentioned by Ptolemy and Pliny.
