Cro-Magnon man is the name given to the oldest fossils found in Europe, which are anatomically identical to modern humans. They were discovered in a limestone cave in France in 1868. Four adult skeletons and one infant were found buried together along with pendants and necklaces made of pieces of shells and animal teeth, leading researchers to conclude that they were intentionally buried within the shelter.
